MYSTERY surrounds an abandoned car that crashed through a hedge into a field and caught fire near Worcester.
The incident happened at around 1.56am this morning (Friday) in Droitwich Road, Martin Hussingtree, near Worcester.
Mystery surrounds the car fire after a crash it the village on the main A38 road.
A spokesperson for the Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said a crew from Worcester Fire Station attended the scene.
He added: "The incident involved a car which had left the roadway and gone through a hedge into a field. The car was well alight and the fire was extinguished using one hosereel jet.
"The car appeared to have been abandoned and police were informed. There were no casualties. The incident was marked as pending closure at 2.43am."
We have approached West Mercia Police for a comment.
