THREE vehicles were stolen from around Kempsey after drivers left the keys in the ignition.
Police said two commercial vehicles and one car were stolen from the side of the road after they were left unlocked with the keys in the ignition.
It led to them warning that insurance companies are unlikely to pay to cover the cost of the stolen vehicle if it is done under these circumstances.
PC Jon Hand said: "Over the last few weeks, we've had three vehicles stolen (two commercial vehicles and one car) that have been parked at the side of the road.
"The common theme in these vehicles being taken is that they have been left unlocked with the keys in the ignition.
"If vehicles are stolen under these circumstances, there is a very high probability that insurance companies won't pay out to cover the cost of the stolen vehicle.
"Please ensure that when you leave your vehicle, no matter how long, it is locked and secure. This drastically reduces the chance of it being taken."
