A CAR has been left badly damaged after a head-on crash into a lamppost near a major roundabout.
The black BMW suffered heavy front-end damage after smashing into the lampost on the A4440 bypass in Worcester. The BMW was badly damaged after the lamppost crash near County Hall this afternoon.
The car came to rest on a grass area on Nunnery Way very close to the pedestrian crossing which passes over the dual carriageway.
The impact was so severe the lamppost was bent and was leaning over. Both front seat airbags had been deployed in the BMW on impact.
Debris was also strewn across the grass and one of the headlights was smashed. The bonnet had been crumpled. There were no emergency vehicles at the scene when the reporter arrived.
Some drivers were slowing down to get a better look at the damaged car.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "At around 1pm today officers were called to a collision involving a vehicle on the roundabout of A4440 and A44. No one was injured and no one has been arrested."
