"PATHETIC" is what a man has called the new road markings put in place after cars keep crashing into his mother's garden fence.
John Hooper previously told Worcester News how his 93-year-old mother, Kate, feared being killed after three cars crashed through her garden fence on the corner of Alder Close in Droitwich over the past three years.
Drivers have been crashing into the property from Primsland Way, which was also the site of a fatal motorbike crash directly opposite the home.
Worcestershire County Council has now painted lines on the road to tell drivers to slow down, but Mr Hooper said drivers have largely ignored the markings.
"I don't think it made a difference," he said.
"All they have done is paint the road - I am not happy.
"Cars are still bombing down the road.
"They have done a certain amount, but you need to see it for yourself - it's pathetic if I'm honest.
"I was at mum's the other day, and cars were still going 40 to 50mph."
In response, Worcestershire County Council said verge master posts on the east and west sides of Alder Grove will also be soon installed to highlight the bend from both directions.
Mrs Hooper, who has dementia, has lived in the home for over 50 years, but it was only these past three years the family has seen an increase in crashes.
The first crash into her garden fence was in May 2020, the second in June 2022 and the most recent on Tuesday, September 12.
A spokesperson for Worcestershire County Council said: “New road markings have been installed, and the existing lining has been refreshed on Primsland Way, following residents’ concerns about increased traffic speeds.
"We will also be putting in verge master posts on the east and west sides of Alder Grove to highlight the bend from both directions.
"We will continue to work closely with the Local County Councillor and hope that these additional measures will have a positive impact on speed reduction.
"The new markings are not related to a 20mph speed limit.”
