A 25-YEAR-OLD man was caught driving almost double the temporary speed limit on the M5 after an argument.
Magistrates told Robert Bradley, who had a clean driving licence, was eventually told by magistrates not to drive while angry.
The court heard Bradley was caught speeding on the M5 northbound between Junction 6 and 5 at 10.08pm on February 6 this year.
The clerk said the defendant had been travelling in a Ford at a speed of 78mph in a temporary 40mph speed limit section.
Asked to explain himself the engineer said he had got into an argument with a former employer and hadn't remained calm while driving.
The clerk then asked why there was a 40mph limit in place - Bradley replying there had been workmen in the road at the time.
After the clerk pointed out this was not "safe working" conditions for the workmen at the time, Bradley agreed.
Asked what impact a potential disqualification would have - an option available to the magistrates for the offence - Bradley said "I could not get to work, it is 28 miles away."
The defendant, of King Street, Stourbridge and previously of Redstone Lane, Stourbridge, added no one would be able to give him a lift to work.
Magistrates left the courtroom for deliberations before Russell Williams, the chairman of the bench, returned telling the court they had decided to disqualify him.

The chairman said the lesson was "don't drive while you are angry".
They gave Bradley six points added to his licence.
He was also fined £535 as well as victim surcharge of £210 and costs of £90.
Bradley was given 28 days to pay the full amount, £825, in full.
Bradley appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Friday (October 6).
