AN investigation has been launched after protected tree in a Worcestershire village has been felled.
Malvern Hills District Council is investigating a protected felled walnut tree which was on private land opposite the Kempsey Parish Hall.
The tree was legally protected by being in the Kempsey conservation area but sat on the grounds of a private residence.
A spokesperson from Malvern Hills District Council said: “We have been made aware of the tree felling, and an investigation into the rationale behind the works is underway.”
