THE parents of a teenage drug dealer called police after his mum found a gun in his bedroom.
Owen Walker's mother found the modified pistol in a bag, wrapped in a towel, while she was cleaning his bedroom in Green Lane.
She called Walker's dad, who was with his son at the time, bringing him home before police arrested him in December last year.
The gun was seized and a mobile phone, with messages linking him to drug dealing, was also found.
Despite Walker's arrest, the now 20-year-old was then caught red-handed, less than eight months later, drug dealing in Worcester while carrying a knife.
He was jailed for seven years at Worcester Crown Court on Friday.
Lee Egan, prosecuting, said, on June 21 another search of Walker's home was carried out.
During that search, a large knife, a machete, a mallet as well as cocaine and heroin were discovered.
Mr Egan said nitrous oxide canisters were found while on his phone was a video of himself and friends using the canisters.
On June 27 police were called to a report of drug dealing taking place near Gillam Street, Worcester.

Worcester Crown Court heard Walker was arrested there and, on him, was 15 wraps of cocaine and a "large lock knife", as well as hundreds of pounds in cash.
Two mobiles were also seized from the defendant again linking him to drug dealing.
And during another search of his home a bag containing 24 grammes of cannabis was discovered.
Lee Masters, defending, said Walker had got addicted to drugs and built up debts, paying them back through working for those above him in the chain.
He said the defendant "bitterly regretted" being sucked into life he had seen as the "gangster lifestyle".
Mr Masters said Walker's family had had no hesitation in doing the right thing and calling police when the gun was found.
He added Walker had already weaned himself off drugs in custody and was working towards getting a legitimate job when he left as the defendant wanted to ensure it would be the last time he appeared before a court.
Walker, who had no previous convictions, lost his good character by admitting possession of a firearm; possessing ammunition for a firearm without a certificate; possessing a psychoactive substance (nitrous oxide) with intent to supply; possessing with intent to supply Class A drugs cocaine and diamorphine; possessing with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B - cannabis and possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
Sentencing him, Judge Nicholas Cartwright said Walker had been immature and should have engaged with police in his first arrest.
The judge told Walker he was young and after leaving prison would have a choice of a fruitful law-abiding life or to engage in serious crime.
"I can't make the choice for you," the judge added.
Walker, who appeared on videolink to the court on Friday, (October 10), was jailed for seven years.
