A mum says parents of disabled children at a city school are in uproar about being “persecuted” by traffic wardens and the police.
Donna Adkins said wardens have been issuing tickets outside Fort Royal Community Primary School every day this term.
But she says parents and carers on the school run don't have anywhere else to park and some of the children have mobility issues.
“This morning the police appeared, too, and were ticketing everyone even if they just looked like they were pulling up,” she said.
“But a lot of the children can’t walk very far and they don’t see danger at all, so we need to park near the school.”
The mum, whose son Hunter goes to Fort Royal, said she understands there are traffic issues on Wyld’s Lane and Midland Road.
But she says parents on the school run do not have much choice.

“Parking at the school is non-existent and there are time slots for buses and taxis, so parents just have to park on the road as close as we can,” she said.
“This does mean that parents have to park on double yellow lines sometimes.
“We recently applied for a Blue Badge for Hunter and we were successful, but we’re still waiting for that to come through.
“There was uproar this morning - we feel we are being discriminated against. It feels like they are persecuting us because they know we’re easy targets.
“I contacted the school and they were totally unaware of it. The headteacher came out and he was quite upset about it.”
A spokesperson for Worcester City Council said: “Since the start of the new school term our civil enforcement officers have been visiting a number of areas where complaints about school-related parking have been received.
“Worcester City Council acts as enforcement agency on behalf of Worcestershire County Council, who are responsible for the implementation of parking orders covering parking restrictions such as double yellow lines.
“Anybody who wishes to appeal against a parking notice should go to www.worcester.gov.uk/parking/pay-penalty-charge-notice.”
