A Worcester resident who is known as the UK’s number one Michael Bublé tribute act - after receiving praise from the man himself - will perform a charity show in Droitwich.
Steve Maitland, 51, has organised the Bublé tribute night to mark his 15th year anniversary.
It will take place at The Norbury Theatre on October 7 from 7.30pm.
Steve decided to fundraise for Dementia UK and Acorns Hospice as he wanted to raise money to help the charity provide more Admiral Nurses to support families facing dementia in the county.
Steve has performed as Bublé in various locations across the UK – even taking to the spotlight at Gary Barlow’s mother-in-law’s birthday party; where he was praised for his “fabulous voice”.
He will perform with The Shut Up & Dance Band - who have been together for more than four years.
They will take to the stage with some of Steve’s favourite Bublé hits - and added "very special surprises on the night".
Steve said: “This is a chance for me to help the local community with funding.
"I'm hoping the local community will come and support this event with me and my fabulous 10 piece band and enjoy a night of amazing live music and remember; to sing like nobody is listening and dance like nobody is watching – this is my way of showing my support.”
Savannah Redhead, community fundraising executive at Dementia UK, said: “We are so grateful to Steve for organising this fundraiser for Dementia UK.
“Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia. Thanks to the hard work of our amazing fundraisers like Steve, more families than ever will be able to access the life-changing support offered by our dementia specialist Admiral Nurses and national Dementia Helpline.”
Admiral Nurses provide support and guidance for families affected by all forms of dementia in communities, hospitals and hospices, on the free national Dementia Helpline and in clinics.
Mel Hall, area fundraiser for Acorns Childrens Hospice, said: “Thank you so much to Steve for selecting Acorns Children’s Hospice as one of the chosen charities.
"We can’t wait for the show.”
Tickets are available from the Theatre Box Office on 01905 770154 or follow the link on www.bubletribute.com
Tickets are £15 with concessions £13.50 for the event cost with a percentage of tickets sales to be split between the two charities.
