POLICE are appealing for anyone who witnessed a serious crash on the M42 in which a person was seriously injured.
The crash took place between a blue Seat Leon and a blue Volkswagen Golf at 12.15am on Saturday morning (September 23).
The crash took place on the westbound carriageway between Junction 2 for Hopwood and Junction 1 for Bromsgrove.
The Seat Leon subsequently caught fire.
Three people were injured and were taken to hospital for treatment.
One person remains in a critical but stable condition at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving and driving without insurance. He has been released under investigation.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed or has dash-cam footage of the collision, or either of the vehicles in the minutes before it.
