THOUSANDS of school children will be able to visit a Christmas event free of charge thanks to a ticket giveaway.
Winter Glow, which runs at the Three Counties showground, is gifting up to 10,000 free tickets to primary school children.
Those lucky enough to get their hands on a special ticket will be able to choose to attend either the magical Christmas light trail or ice skating experience completely free of charge.
Winter Glow’s outdoor light trail, one of the longest in the West Midlands, will transport families to a twinkling winter wonderland.
Created by local creative artists and lighting designers with an extensive background in theatre and event production, the illuminated trail will take families on a journey around the North Pole with Santa’s head elf, Jingle, as he embarks on an exciting adventure to bring his precious golden snowflake home.
Children who opt for the ice skating experience will enjoy a fun time on Winter Glow’s all-weather ice rink whilst listening to their favourite Christmas songs.
To help families extend their festive fun beyond the big day itself tickets will be valid during the Christmas school holidays from Wednesday, December 27 to Saturday, January 6.
The number of tickets available will be based on demand and randomly allocated to school classes via a ballot.
To enter the draw to win free tickets, head teachers must register their school directly with Winter Glow by Friday, September 29.
Chris Gage, senior manager at Winter Glow, said: “Christmas holds a special place in our hearts, as it's a time for families to come together and create cherished memories. As a family-run business, we understand that this year has brought about significant financial challenges for many families, with the rising cost of living making things even tougher.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer thousands of children the opportunity to attend Winter Glow at absolutely no cost to allow even more children to enjoy the magic of Christmas. We can’t wait to welcome everyone.”
