A MAN was rushed to hospital and two others were hurt in a crash near Droitwich.
The man was seriously injured after two cars crashed on Newland Road and Plough Lane this morning (Wednesday).
Two ambulances, police and one fire crew from Droitwich attended the scene, which had closed the road.
Worcestershire Highways warned drivers to avoid the area while emergency services handled the incident.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a two-car RTC near the junction of Newland Road and Plough Lane at 8.29am, two ambulances attended the scene.
"On arrival, we discovered two patients, a man and a woman, who were the drivers of the car.
"The man was treated for a suspected serious injury before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
"The woman was assessed and discharged at the scene."
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police added: "We received a call around 8.40 this morning (September 13) with reports of a collision from Newland Road to Plough Lane in Oddingley.
"Officers are still at the incident waiting for recovery of the two vehicles involved.
"Both the driver of one car and the three occupants of the other have minor injuries."
Firefighters were called to make the two vehicles safe.
A fire service spokesperson said: “Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called out to make vehicles safe after a road traffic collision in Oddingley at 9.02am today.
“One Droitwich Fire Station crew attended the scene where the incident involved two vehicles with no people trapped.
“Three casualties were left in the care of the ambulance service (log number 1123), and the police (log number 130I) were also in attendance with Green Lane closed in both directions.
“Both vehicles and the scene were made safe before the HWFRS crew left the incident with the police at 9.33am.”
A tow truck was on the scene removing the two cars, and a man was directing traffic past the incident.
The scene was cleared at 11am.
