AN "ATROCIOUS" smell of sewage from an overflowing drain has been making residents gag and even began to seep into a living room.
Three residents of Field House Gardens, a retirement housing complex on Stanley Road, have been trying to get the overflowing drain addressed but have so far been unsuccessful.
Clumped toilet paper and sewage have been pooling around the manhole cover outside of the windows belonging to the residents.

Lillian Thomas, one of the residents of Field House Gardens, has been trying to get the problem sorted.
She said: "Around five weeks ago now, Sue, Mary and I all rang to complain about a drain outside our properties that had started to overflow.
"Since then, we have been trying to get Platform to sort out the problem as the smell has been utterly atrocious.
"We have constantly been told that the issue is going to be resolved but here we are still waiting for something to happen.
Sue Roberts said September's heatwave made the smell even worse and even stopped residents from opening windows despite the high temperatures.
She said: "One of the worst things about this whole ordeal is that we have been going through a heatwave recently, which has only made the smell worse.
"We have not even been able to open our windows in the heat because the smell is that bad.
"It is not fair at all to have residents living amidst these disgusting conditions.
"There was one point where the sewage started to actually seep into my living room."

Mary Lewis said: "The smell has been so bad it has actually made me gag.
"There has just been so much back and forth and you can never seem to be able to get through to people on the phone.
"If there were commutable offices in Worcester, I would have travelled there to try and talk to somebody in person.
Martin Woods, head of external contracts at Platform Housing Group, apologised for the issue.
He said: "We are sorry to hear of our customer's concerns regarding the shared drain.
"Our contractors have vacuumed out the drain today and are working to put a plan of action in place to resolve the issue."
