THIS is the dramatic moment a car is 'set on fire' and explodes in a fireball which gives off a blinding flash.
The video footage shows a person in white on a bike riding away at speed as the car is engulfed by the fire in Portesfield Road in Tolladine in Worcester on Saturday (September 9).
Further images show the burnt-out remains of the car covered in police tape in the aftermath of the blaze which took place in the early hours.
The fire happened feet from family homes in Worcester.
Worried neighbours called 999 after the explosion with the emergency services received ten calls.
The flash is so bright the camera screen turns red and thick, black smoke can be seen pouring from the car.
Police are now investigating what caused the fire in Portefields Road, in Tolladine, at 1.34am.
Two Worcester Fire Station crews were sent and firefighters found a car was well alight on the road.
The fire service received ten calls about the blaze and firefighters were tackling the flames for an hour.
A spokesperson said: “The flames were extinguished by two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using one hose reel jet.
"There were no casualties."
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We were called to Portefields Road in Worcester at around 1.40am on Saturday 9 September following a report of a car fire.
"Enquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing."
