The Domicilliary Care Worker Award is about celebrating the important work that the third sector and community teams do in health and care.
Sponsored by: The Feeding Trust
The 2023 awards will culminate in a black tie dinner for all the finalists at the Abbey Hotel in Malvern on Thursday, September 14, where the winners will be announced.
Here are your finalists:
Toni Marie Scott-Adams
TONI Marie Scott-Adams had a career in hospitality management for 10 years before Covid when she was put on furlough in March, 2020. She was identified as a vulnerable person due to having Systemic Lupus Disease and while she knows she should have stayed at home she couldn’t sit there while her husband went to work every day.
Toni chose to become a Health Care Assistant at Priceless Care Services in Evesham because she wanted to help those who needed it the most, at a time where people were frightened and unsure of what the future held.
She said: “It was by far the best decision I’ve ever made.” What was originally a temporary job while she was furloughed has now turned into an amazing career.
She said: “I’ve cared for truly incredible, loving, kind and intelligent people from all walks of life. “From helping them with their daily lives, to maintaining their independence and overall ensuring they are cared for with kindness, respect and dignity.”
