The 2023 awards will culminate in a black tie dinner for all the finalists at the Abbey Hotel in Malvern on Thursday, September 14, where the winners will be announced.
Here are your finalists:
Chaddesley Corbett Surgery
LAST year’s winners Chaddesley Corbett Surgery is honoured to have been nominated for this award again by their patients after being overjoyed to receive it in 2022. They are a small, tight-knit team making a big difference to their patients and the local community.
They strive to offer patients responsive and high-quality care and are continuously developing and building on the services they offer, aiming to deliver as many as they can close to homes of patients through collaborative working with the District Nursing team and local Primary Care Network.
Over the past 18 months the Surgery has welcomed a physiotherapist, practice pharmacist and two mental health practitioners to the team to expand and improve the care offered to patients.
This year, as a team, they have been fundraising for two organisations by participating in multiple running events including the London Marathon; Worcester 10k; NHS 75th Anniversary Parkrun and they still have the Worcester Half Marathon and 10k to complete in September.
Stourport Medical Centre ‘SMC’
IT’S been a difficult few years for Stourport Medical Centre staff and they are overjoyed at being nominated for GP Practice of the Year. In November 2020, Stourport Health Centre and York House Medical Centre merged to become Stourport Medical Centre ‘SMC’ during the Covid pandemic.
Since then, despite the building of a new surgery, the initial building contractors entering administration and having to be replaced, they have succeeded in adopting new ways of working while continuing to provide first class services to their patients. They finally moved into their new surgery in June 2022!
The last 12 months settling in has been a rollercoaster, but their journey has brought them closer together as a team and they provide the very best care possible for all their patients - their NHS choices and Google reviews are testament to that and they have a supportive 3.5k followers on Facebook.
With 21,500 patients and 80 staff, it is a large but friendly surgery. SMC has also been commended for being one of the fastest responding surgeries to triage requests.
Wolverley Surgery
WOLVERLEY Surgery say it’s a great honour to be nominated again for this award and they give credit to the whole team for their loyalty, commitment and hard work – without which they would not have been put forward.
All the staff go above and beyond to ensure that patient care is at the forefront of everything that they do on a daily basis as they continue to work through these challenging times. They are a small practice within the county and currently have 3,550 registered patients.
The Surgery offers a full general medical service to all their patients and works very closely with other practices within their primary clinical network to provide additional services that their patients can access locally.
Wolverley Surgery also has its own dispensary on site which means patients can collect medication at the time of seeing their GP, staff can assist with any medication queries patients may have and can order their medication for next time. The Surgery would like to thank all their patients for their loyalty, patience and understanding.
