THIS dramatic photo shows a fire which created a large plume of smoke over Worcester, destroyed a garden shed and spread to trees close to city homes.
The blaze last night is said by witnesses to have spread to a garden shed close to an alleyway between Borrowdale Drive and Windermere Drive in Warndon, Worcester.
A large pall of thick black smoke was visible across the city between 6pm and 7pm last night as firefighters rushed to tackle the blaze.
Witnesses described how the big Warndon fire 'destroys a garden shed' near homes.
Images of the fire, which show flames leaping into the air, were shared on the Warndon Villages Community Group, a private Facebook group with more than 4,000 members.
Residents also reported hearing loud bangs. Sandra Mackenzie took this photo, published on the community page and used with her permission, of the flames and smoke rising from the fire.
A video has also emerged showing trees engulfed by flames close to houses.
We have approached the Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service for comment and more details about the incident, including any information so far about the suspected cause.
More to follow.
