TWO people have been injured following a crash involving a motorbike in Worcester last night.

The motorbike crash happened at 10pm last night in Wildwood Drive in Worcester, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed this morning. It is understood no other vehicles were involved in the incident. 

The injuries sustained in the incident are not believed to be life-threatening, the ambulance service has confirmed.

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Worcester Fire Station was called to the A4440 Swinesherd Way, Worcester at 9.59pm to make a vehicle safe after an RTC.

"The incident involved a motorcycle and two casualties, one male and one female, were handed over to the care of the ambulance service.

Police were also informed and they attended to close the road. Highways were also contacted due to an oil spill. The incident was marked as closed at 10.56pm."

A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: “We attended to a road traffic collision involving a motorbike at the junction of Nunnery Way and Swinsherd Way in Worcester at 9.56pm.

"A mental heath car came across the incident and stopped to assist alongside one ambulance and a paramedic officer that were sent to the scene.

"We found the motorcyclist who was assessed by ambulance staff at the scene. He had sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening. He was conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further assessment.”

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “We were called to reports of a single vehicle collision involving a motorbike on the A4440 near Wildwood Drive at around 10.05pm last night.

"Officers attended to help with traffic management, and one man was taken to hospital for further treatment.”
