A THREE-storey terraced building was destroyed by a fire in Droitwich. 

Six Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) crews - two from Worcester, two from Droitwich, one from Wyre Forest and another from Bromsgrove went out to the fire in Meadow Road, Droitwich. 

A HWFRS spokesperson said: "Crews – plus the aerial ladder platform from Worcester Fire Station - were called at 1.10am to a house fire with persons reported in Meadow Road, Droitwich. 

"A three-storey terraced building, around 6m by 12m, was 100 per cent damaged by fire.

"The fire spread stopped at roof level.

"All services to the property were isolated. Eight breathing apparatus teams were used, with three hose reel jets and two main jets deployed.

"Crews searched the premises and confirmed all persons were accounted for.

"Police, ambulance and National Grid were all in attendance but there were no casualties.

"A reinspection began at 07:47 and is currently taking place to check for hot spots."

 

Update: A Hereford and Fire Rescue Service spokesperson said: "A Worcester Fire Station crew left the incident with the police at 9.12am today after a reinspection.

"They checked for hot spots and also checked neighbouring properties."
