A YOUTH has been charged in connection with a post office burglary in which raiders in balaclavas smashed their way into a post office with a sledgehammer.
A boy, 16, has been charged over the Upton Snodsbury post office burglary and will appear before magistrates on Worcester on Wednesday (August 30).
We earlier reported how a pair of burglars, dressed in black, entered the post office in Upton Snodsbury at around 1.35am, on Tuesday, July 4. One suspect has since been charged and bailed and placed on a GPS tag.
We have previously reported how post office owner Jeffrey Young came face-to-face with the burglars but spotted they had the sledgehammer and backed off.
A police spokesperson said at the time: "We received a report of a burglary at the Post Office in Upton Snodsbury at around 1.35am this morning (Tuesday 4 July).
Cash was stolen in the burglary.
