An RAF Voyager flew over Worcester on a journey from Scotland this afternoon.
Voyager is the RAF’s sole air-to-air refuelling tanker and also operates as a strategic air transporter.
The plane left Lossiemouth in Scotland at 3.47pm and is travelling at a ground speed of approximately 268 kts.
According to the RAF, fuel offloaded is taken from the aircraft’s standard wing and fuselage tanks, which leaves the cabin free for up to 291 personnel and the hold for freight.
It can also operate as a passenger aircraft in much the same way as a civilian airliner, as well as offering considerable capacity for moving bulk freight in its lower fuselage hold.

The Voyager is also capable of carrying up to 40 stretchers and three critical care patients.
Although it can range worldwide, Voyager remains home-based at Brize Norton. One of the planes will always be available on the Falkland Islands.
Another of the type operates the regular airbridge to and from the Falklands.
