VANDALS have targeted a Droitwich nursery breaking children's toys and throwing paint around.
The owner of Mini Explorer Nature Nursery based at the Glyn Mitchell Memorial Ground in Hanbury Road says she is "heartbroken" about what has happened.
Gemma Saddington said she locked up at 4pm on Monday, (August 21) returning on Tuesday to discover the extensive damage.
"I found they had forced their way in," she said.
"It is pure vandalism, they have turned the place over."
Vandals threw the children's paint around and broke toys beyond repair.
"They have done it for a laugh," the owner said.
"Nothing has been stolen.
"But it is just so frustrating. We have been open five years and nothing like this has happened before."
The owner said a big clean-up operation has been going on and she has been forced to make five trips to the tip to throw away things that couldn't be repaired.
She said they were looking at increasing security around the site to prevent it in the future.
A parent of one of the children at the nursery has set up a fundraising page to raise money to support the nursery.
The appeal 'Weʼre raising £500 to help fund nursery after break-in and vandalism' on Justgiving is already more than halfway past its total.
The owner said: "It has been amazing. It is nice to know there are people out there who want to help and support us."
Droitwich Rugby Club also suffered damage. A spokesperson declined to comment.
On its Facebook page the club said: "We at Droitwich Rugby Club are very saddened to report that we have been subject to significant vandalism.

"We are now working with the police as we have very, very clear images of the perpetrators.
"The club is a voluntary organisation which works very hard to bring sport and events to the town."
Sergeant Cathy Atkinson of Droitwich SNT said: "We do have some suspects in mind at this early stage of our investigations.
"We have spoken to the nursery and are visiting the club today to assess the extent of the damage.
“We will be liaising with the club today to look at CCTV footage for any potential leads.”
Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting incident number 74I of 22/08/2023.
