SEVEN homes in Powick were evacuated last night as a large fire spread through a corn field with videos showing the blaze rampaging towards houses.
Three fire engines from Worcester and two from Malvern attended the incident at a three-acre corn field in Powick at 11.46pm.
Powick homes had to be evacuated as the fire spread through a corn field with fire crews helped by police during the emergency incident at the Old Malvern Road.
Video footage shows the fire creeping close to people's homes and the fire crews had to use beaters to stop the inferno from reaching properties. The fire service has not yet confirmed a cause of the blaze.

The crews extinguished three hectares of corn field and protected properties from the fire spreading, helped by West Mercia Police in evacuating residents.
The area was also checked using a fire service drone from Ledbury.
A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said four crews attended – three from Worcester and one from Malvern plus the water carrier from Evesham, off-road vehicles from Wyre Forest and Malvern and the service drone and incident command unit from Ledbury.
The emergency call was received at 11.46pm to a fire in standing corn/crops on Old Malvern Road, Powick.
The spokesperson added: "The incident involved 4.3 hectares of standing crop which was well alight. The fire was fought using two extended hosereels with beaters used to protect nearby properties.
"Eleven residents from seven properties were evacuated and allowed to return once the fire had been extinguished.
"The drone was used to check for hotspots and these were dampened down using the off-road vehicles. Police and ambulance also attended but there were no casualties. The incident was marked as pending closure at 2.11am."
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "At around 11.50pm last night officers were called to Colletts Green in Powick, to support the fire service who were dealing with a large-scale fire. Nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution while the fire was extinguished."
