An inspirational student from Worcester is studying adult nursing at university after seeing first-hand the "incredible impact" nurses had on her eating disorder recovery.
Paige Rivers, 22, is currently studying adult nursing at Edge Hill University, which she started last September.
Having suffered from an eating disorder throughout much of her life, Paige knew that the work nurses do was vital in her treatment and recovery.
While she originally thought she wanted to become a doctor, but was so inspired by the incredible care nurses gave her throughout her treatment that she knew it was the career path for her.
She says she wants to "have a positive impact on patients the way her nurses did on her".
Paige has also written two books about her recovery from anorexia and is excited to begin her career as a nurse.
She said: “When I was really unwell, the nurses went above and beyond in their care for me. They played an integral role in my recovery.
"This is when I realised, that I too wanted to make a real difference to people’s lives, and a career in nursing would be the perfect route for me.
"Studying nursing has been incredibly rewarding and hands-on so far - I’d encourage anyone rethinking their options after results today to consider a degree in nursing.
"You can still apply at a range of universities through UCAS clearing following A-Level Results Day."
