A 34-year-old man charged with a house burglary and thefts from city stores has been named by police.
Ashley Barnes of Sansome Place, Worcester, has been named after he was charged with a burglary in Battenhall Road and a theft from a shop in The Shambles and a theft in Diglis.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "The Neighbourhood Crime Fighting Team overnight secured charges for Ashley Barnes, a 34-year-old male from Sansome Place, Worcester for a home burglary from yesterday at Battenhall Road, Worcester, a theft from store from yesterday from a shop in The Shambles, and another theft from Tuesday from a premises in Diglis Road.
"He has been remanded in custody to appear at Kidderminster magistrates court today."
As previously reported, a suspect ran away from police officers following reports of theft from a store on The Shambles.

A suspect was later tracked down and found in a garden on Timberdine Avenue and arrested at around 10.40am yesterday.
City centre police were supported by officers from the new Neighbourhood Crime Fighting Team who were also on patrol in the area at the time.
A spokesperson for Worcester SNT said: "This was a great result for the community, apprehending and arresting a suspected shoplifter so swiftly after the alarm was raised.
“We were able to do this thanks to support of our colleagues in the Neighbourhood Crime Fighting Team."
There were large numbers of police seen in Battenhall Road.
