A SHED and fencing company in Worcester has suddenly closed its site and appears to have been given a forfeiture notice by landlords.
The Worcester News understands D&J Timber Buildings, based at Blackpole Trading Estate East, was last open for trading on Friday (August 11), but after locking the doors on Saturday it has not been open since.
We visited the Blackpole Trading Estate East-based business, which supplies sheds, garden buildings, landscape products, fencing, Durapost and decorative garden products, on Monday and Wednesday.
We found gates to the two entrances at the Unit D1 site of the estate were closed and bolted up.
A Forfeiture Notice was posted on its gates on Wednesday.
It reads: "Under the terms and conditions of your lease we (Parkinson Bailiff Services Limited) as authorised agents acting on behalf of the landlord have this day re-entered these premises and the lease is hereby determined.
"Any attempt by you or your agents to enter the premises will result in criminal/civil proceedings being taken against you."
Another notice on the gates reads: "You are under obligation to collect the goods (on site).
"In the event the goods are not collected on or before August 30 we reserve the right to dispose of the goods."
On Monday Lansdowne Rodway Estates Limited, the landowners, told us: "We haven't been officially told anything yet.
"We have padlocked the gates.
"No one seems to know what is going on."
One potential customer, who wanted to remain anonymous, told us he had visited the site on Monday morning after seeing an offer on garden buildings being advertised.
"A worker at a nearby unit said they had closed suddenly last Friday," he said.
"I might have been a customer, just curious what deals they had."
Attempts to contact the firm's owners have been unsuccessful.
The company's page on Google says the business is "temporarily closed" - but gives an old Worcester Shrub Hill Industrial Estate premises address.
The firm's website, d&jtimberbuildings.com, appears to be down, while the Facebook site also seems unable to be accessed.
D&J Timber Buildings was included in our Trader of the Week feature in 2022 when the firm, run by mother and son duo Joy and Daniel Cox, announced it was moving from premises to a new larger base.
The firm moved to Blackpole Trading Estate East 18 months ago.

“Moving to our a new 30,000sq ft site located on the Blackpole East Estate, Blackpole Road, means we can increase manufacturing capabilities and stock a larger range and quantity of products.
“Our excellent staff work hard to deliver a five-star product with a five-star service.”
