The Proclaimers have announced they will no longer be performing at Sunshine Festival 2023.
In a post on Facebook, the festival revealed that Charlie, one of the band’s members, has been experiencing “voice loss”.
The post adds: “Sadly with Charlie having just suffered voice loss linked to having a perforated eardrum, it has been further diagnosed that he cannot perform over the next few weeks and accordingly The Proclaimers have had to cancel their following performances.”
The Proclaimers will now not be playing at its shows that were scheduled for the remainder of August and September this year.

Charlie said: “I’m very sorry that I can’t play these shows and thank everyone for all the fantastic support over this tour.”
Who will replace the Proclaimers at Sunshine Festival?
Sunshine Festival is yet to announce who will replace the Proclaimers at the event but it says it will “work our socks off to get another to get another headline act in such short notice.”
The festival also wishes Charlie “a speedy recovery” and promises to “get the guys back next year.”
