Hop Lords on Pump Street is a quirky taproom making a mark in the city

Hop Lord's is an intriguing taproom and bottle shop that was one of the first of its kind to open in Worcester back in 2018.

The venue is on one of the retail units on Pump Street and adjacent to Pizza Freakz, which is a popular American-style pizza shop.

Visitors can get their hands on quirky beer and pizza slices at this venue which makes it a unique and trendy place to hang out.

Jonny Richmond, front-of-house staff, has worked at the tap room since it opened and said it is a great place for beer connoisseurs, people hoping to learn more about beer and people who just want a good drink.

Jonny Richmond, 29, said: "We first opened up in 2018 and it was great, it was the only place of its kind in Worcester at the time.

"Now there are a few places like this.

"In 2019, the following years were a bit tricky, but, we did what we could, we delivered food too.

"We have over 200 beers at any one time and that really sets us apart from other places. 

"We're always changing our beers. Our craft beers and German beers are quite popular.

"We have lots of weird and wonderful beers.

"The German beers are very popular.

"We have some lovely regulars, one of our regulars has green fingers and he always brings me fruit and veg he has grown from his garden.

"We are the perfect place for beer, when it comes to beer - we have all bases covered.

"It's a pretty relaxed and social place."

Pizza Freakz is just next door and punters can bring their drinks to the restaurant.

Michael Bashir also works front of house and is a chef at Pizza Freakz said: "It is fun working here, it is a very social job which I enjoy."
