A COFFEE shop that closed the doors of its cafe in Worcester is set to reopen at its new location this weekend.

Chamberlains had its last day of trading at its permanent cafe in Severn Street, Worcester on Saturday (August 5).

However, despite the closure of the cafe, the business is now operating as a pop-up coffee shop at the Plovers Rise Youth Centre in Kempsey.

Customers will be able to enjoy its barista coffee, speciality teas and cakes from the new location at 10.30am on Friday, August 11.

When the business closed manager Suzanne Hope posted an emotional message on social media thanking everyone who supported the business on behalf of her and the team.

She said: "So today is our last day at Severn Street.

"I want to say a huge thank you for the lovely messages of support both personally and professionally over the last few days, not to mention the offers of practical help during our move.

"It's been a rollercoaster of a year. I couldn't have done it without the help of wonderful friends and family (Daz, Chris, Ann, Lucy, Caitlin, Sara, Becky, Ella and Sophie), who made things happen even at the last minute and never failed to turn up.

"A thank you also to all the lovely customers we've met over the last year who are now friends.

"Not to mention the hundreds of dogs that have come through our door, we'll miss your cuddles.

"We sincerely hope you'll visit one of our pop-up coffee shops in the future, Kempsey runs Wednesdays and Fridays."

Chamberlains first opened its doors on Thursday, November 10 on Severn Street, with some of the staff consisting of ex-NHS workers who wanted to embark on a new career after the pandemic.

The transformation of the empty building into a cosy tea room took four months.
