A BLOOMING plant shop business is relocating to a bigger, better base in the heart of Worcester after outgrowing its old base.

The Jungle Club Plant Shop, which opened in Worcester three years ago, has outgrown its existing base and has relocated to Pump Street and will open this Friday.

The Jungle Club Plant Shop is moving to 18 Pump Street in the city centre which will offer more space for customers and plants.

Daley Fard, 39, known as 'the Plant Man', said it was the right move for the family-run business which began during lockdown and, since then, has 'gone from strength to strength'.

The old base was at 7 Barbourne Road in Worcester.

The Plant Man said the new base would allow them to be 'more accessible' to their customers and there was more space to 'show more stock and better variety at better prices'.

"It's just better access for us.

"We just wanted a bigger space and wanted to give the customers more access and better parking. It's a great move for us. It is great to be part of the city centre, to be in the heart of Worcester," he said.

He said the fact that an independent shop was relocating to the middle of Worcester 'says a lot about the city centre' and showed that people wanted 'more interesting retail'.

It is the latest in a number of shop openings in the city.

Script Haven opened the doors to its coffee shop on Saturday with queues braving the rain to try its hot drinks and peruse the shelves of the bookshop.

Rainbowls announced it would be opening its second cafe in Worcester's Upper Tything.

Its first venue is in Cheltenham where it sells acai bowls, smoothies and juices.

However, there have been a couple of closures announced with Steamhouse bagel shop closing its doors on The Foregate

Chamberlains also announced it would be closing its Severn Street cafe but would continue on as a pop-up venue.
