A MAN with cocaine stuffed in his underwear has been arrested by police.
The 25-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply in Worcester.
A concerned resident contacted police about drugs in the area which led to a proactive search and a car found in Tolladine Road.
Police then conducted a thorough investigation with sniffer dogs and detection kits.
Despite not finding anything, police took the man back to the police station where they discovered 16 wraps of cocaine in the suspect’s underwear after a strip search.
The man has been released on bail while investigations continue.
A new Neighbourhood Crime Fighting Team (NCFT) has been set up to help police work with local communities.
Sgt Shaun Blackshaw of South Worcestershire NCFT said it was a good example of working with the public to reduce the community impact of illegal drugs.
“We have listened to the community here and shown that we will act where information about drug dealing is concerned,” he said.
“Officers at the scene looked past the obvious to bring the suspect in and get a result, all thanks to a tip-off from a member of the public.”
