A man has been charged with drink driving after a crash on the motorway.

Two vehicles were involved in a crash at junction 4 of the M5 on Tuesday morning (July 25).

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said officers attended the crash at about 11.15am.

“41-year-old James Barrie of Crab Tree Lane, Bromsgrove was later charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level was above limit and will attend Worcester Magistrates Court next month,” they said.

The police’s operations patrol unit for Worcestershire, which looks after roads policing and attends major incidents in the county, shared a picture of the damage caused to one of the vehicles involved in the crash.

“Don’t drink and drive. Thankfully no injuries at this collision,” they said.
