A PUB which closed down after the previous owners retired is 'under new ownership' with more details expected in the autumn, says a sign outside.
The Whitehall Inn in Rushwick remains closed for the time being but a sign has appeared outside the pub telling villagers it is under new ownership.
A sign on an A-board outside says: "Hi Rushwick. Under new ownership. Details released autumn 2023."
We reported in February how Fiona Goldsby who owned the Whitehall Inn on Bransford Road alongside her husband, Ron, moved to the pub in 2005 as Punch Tavern tenants before purchasing the freehold from the company in 2013.
However, after 18 years, they decided to come from behind the bar and were planning to enjoy their retirement, as we reported earlier this year.

Mrs Goldsby said: “We have traded as a wet-led business very successfully since purchasing the pub and have made many good friends.
“But in late 2019 we decided to go for an early retirement and live a little - and then of course in 2020 we had Covid.”
Whitehall Inn, on Bransford Road, was marketed by estate agents Sidney Phillips at a price of £365,000.
The listing described the property as having an “attractive” open-plan bar area with space for 50-plus people and room to extend.
There is also a three-bedroom owners' accommodation, as well as a pub garden and car parking.
As well as this, the sale included a large brick-built barn/outbuilding which was said to “suit conversion".
