IF you looked to the skies earlier you were likely disappointed to not see the double World War Two Spitfire flypast.

The World War double Spitfire Flypast (the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight) was due to take place over the Woofest festival at the Drum and Monkey near Upton upon Severn.

The advertised time was 1.13pm on Saturday, (July 8) - but minutes before the flypast organisers of the Drum and Monkey-based event were told it couldn't take place due to the weather.

Luke Simons said he had the call from the pilot apologising that it had to be cancelled.

The weather has been unpredictable today, humid with heavy showers throughout the afternoon.

Last year a Hurricane flew over the festival, entertaining crowds after the event returned to the field for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Woo Fest music festival is an award-winning multi-genre music festival for all ages.

Since its launch in 2015, it has raised over £110,000 with every single penny from every ticket going to the hospice.
