AN epic nationwide tractor drive, which is raising awareness of mental health issues affecting people living in rural areas, came to Worcester this weekend.
Andy Eadon is driving a tractor 2,000 miles through England, Scotland and Wales in tribute to his son Len who took his own life on New Year’s Day 2022.
Andy and wife, Lynda, founded Len’s Light which is raising awareness of mental health issues and has also raised more than £100,000 for charities including PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide in less than 18 months.
Worcester Livestock Market in The Cattle Market, Nunnery Way, was the venue for their latest stop on Saturday morning, (July 8).
The family and supporters took pictures in front of the large tractor which has a Len's Light registration plate on display, and the light on the front carrying the words "talk" and "share".
Andy said: "The support has been incredible.
"We want to go across the country with the message no one in the rural community should feel isolated or alone.
"People have an opinion on mental health set in their minds - we want to rephrase the conversation and start talking about positive mental health.
"It's going back to old values and communication.
"Hopefully it will stop other families going through the same heartache that we have."
Lynda added: "What it is all about is getting people talking and getting the message out there.
"To date we have raised more than £114,000.
"The whole thing is going really well. We have an open Facebook group too, Len's Light, where I try to put everything up on there every night (from each stop).
"People are so kind with their messages of support."
