A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of racially abusing a staff member of a city clothing store and assault.
Two police cars and a police van were parked outside JD Sports in The Shambles this afternoon (Tuesday).
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Following a call at approximately 3pm this afternoon, I can confirm that officers attended JD sports on The Shambles and one man has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order and assault."

A store manager at JD Sports in Worcester said that her staff are all okay following the incident.
She said: "The police presence was due to an incident that happened in our store.
"A customer directed racial abuse at a member of staff and also verbally abused several other members of staff over a pair of trainers.
"Everyone is thankfully okay after the incident."
