A QUICK-thinking postman has been praised for putting out a fire outside a house while he was delivering letters.
The 'hero' postie rushed to put out flames that reached about 9 feet high according to eyewitnesses.
Dressed in his uniform of blue shirt and shorts, he uses a fire extinguisher to tame the fire in Sycamore Road, Tolladine before fire crews arrived.
Four meters of fencing had caught on fire and began spreading to the attached house on Saturday morning (July 1).

Two fire crews arrived and used a short extension ladder, small gear and a hose reel to extinguish the fire.
A thermal imaging camera was also used by firefighters.
A spokesperson said Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service commended the man for his actions but said people should always call 999.

They added: "Two HWFRS crews from Worcester Fire Station were called at 11.22am on July 1 to a fire at Sycamore Road, Worcester.
"The fire involved 4m of fencing and had spread to a lean-to attached to the property, damaging the gutter and fascia.
"The loft space and exterior fascia were checked, and the burnt timer cut away.
"A short extension ladder, small gear and a hose reel were used to extinguish the fire with a thermal imaging camera also deployed.
"There were no casualties.
"The incident was marked as pending closure at 12.30pm.
"While we would commend the actions of the postman, we would always recommend calling the fire service in such circumstances."
