AN ILLEGAL encampment on a field near a busy leisure centre has prompted a police presence.
Caravans arrived on the playing fields behind Droitwich Leisure Centre, Briar Mill, at around 6pm on Wednesday, June 28.
Nigel Grundy, area manager for Droitwich Leisure Centre, said: "We had an incident where a lad was jumping in the pool and being quite abusive to staff which obviously was not nice.
"When they arrived last night, there were no immediate issues.
"It wasn't until today that the real problems arose but they are no longer in the building.
"The matter is being dealt with by the council and also the police."

West Mercia Police responded and were told by the group that they would be leaving at the weekend.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "The council have already attended and served papers to leave.
"Droitwich SNT will make contact with staff at the leisure centre and will be providing reassurance patrols over the next few days."
