A 72-YEAR-old is awaiting sentence after admitting arson and criminal damage. 

Rohan Holden-Baker, of Oak View Way, Worcester, committed arson and damaged a hallway carpet, valued at £2,000, belonging to Sanctuary Housing. 

The offences took place between November 28 and November 31 last year at Noble House in Worcester. 

Holden-Baker appeared on videolink from HMP Hewell to Worcester Crown Court.

But at the start of the hearing, his advocate Naomi Nelson-Cofie explained his sentencing could not go ahead due to various reasons including that a pre-sentence report was not ready. 

Judge Martin Jackson agreed to an adjournment telling Holden-Baker his sentence would take place on July 25 instead. 

Holden-Baker was told, due to him being in a wheelchair and the crown court being an old building, his case may be moved to either Birmingham or Warwick which had better access.
