A MOTHER and her two children were hurt as they escaped a house fire.

Three fire crews and paramedics were called to Rothay Close in Warndon after a terraced, two-storey house went up in flames.

A woman in her 30s, a teenage girl and a boy were all left in the care of the ambulance service, according to fire crews.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.20pm on Sunday to a fire at a property on Rothay Close in Warndon, Worcester.

"A paramedic officer attended the scene.

"Three patients, a woman and a teenage boy and a teenage girl, were assessed at the scene.

"They had sustained minor injuries and received self-care advice before being discharged.”

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation extinguished the blaze.

Crews also cut away at the area around the house and made it safe.

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “HWFR was called out to a house fire in Worcester at 2.09pm on Sunday.

“Three Worcester Fire Station crews attended Rothay Close, where there was a fire in the rear bedroom of a terraced, two-storey property.

“It was extinguished by two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation.

“Crews cut away at the area and made it safe.

“A woman in her 30s and two teenagers, a male and a female, were all left in the care of the ambulance service.

“The final crew left the scene at 4.08pm.”
