DRIVERS regularly appear in court for speeding offences.
The minimum penalty for speeding is a £100 fine and three penalty points added to a driver's licence.
Drivers caught speeding can be disqualified from driving if they build up 12 or more penalty points within a period of three years.
These are some of the drivers who have appeared in court for speeding in Worcestershire this month:
ANTHONY UNDERHILL, 61, Hawford Avenue, Kidderminster, was caught speeding in Martley Road, Broadheath.
His Peugeot was caught speeding on September 14 last year, breaking the 30mph speed limit on that road.
No totting disqualification was made because mitigating circumstances were identified.
Underhill was fined £40, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £16 and costs of £110
SAIMA IMRAN, 44, of Bridge Street, Malvern, was caught speeding on the A44 New Road.
Imran drove a Zontes Firefly motorcycle on the road above the 30mph limit.
Imran was given three penalty points, fined £40, and ordered to pay costs of £90 and victim surcharge of £16.
VICTORIA HUGHES, 33, of Grandison Gardens, Worcester, was caught speeding on A4440 Crookbarrow Way dual carriageway.
Hughes drove a Peugeot 208 above the road’s 60mph limit in September 2 last year.
Hughes was given three penalty points, fined £100 and told to pay costs of £90 and a surcharge of £40.
ANDREW PETERS, 63, of Oxford Terrace, Edinburgh, was caught speeding between Junction 6 and Junction 5 northbound on the M5.
Peters committed the offence on September 8 last year, Peters travelling at a speed exceeding the 60mph variable speed limit.
Peters faces a ban and is set to appear at Worcester Magistrates Court on July 21 when a disqualification will be considered.
