A CANNABIS farm with 100 plants has been discovered inside a home following a report of a burglary.

Police said they uncovered the drugs farm after being called to a break-in but once inside the property found the plants.

Officers seized and removed the cannabis plants from a home in Lambert Road, St John's. 

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "At just after 4am on Saturday, June 12 police responded to a report of a burglary at a house in the Knight Street/Lambert Road in Worcester.

"On arrival at the address officers discovered a cannabis farm with 100 plants inside was found at an address in Lambert Road – all of the plants were seized and removed from the address.

"Officers are continuing their enquiries viewing CCTV footage to try and identify the persons involved.

"Witnesses reported seeing a panel van registration is not known – leaving the scene causing damage to a number of vehicles in the road.

The spokesperson added: "If you think someone is growing or selling drugs please contact your local Safer Neighbourhood Team.

"If you have information but don’t feel comfortable speaking to police, you can speak to the independent charity Crimestoppers.
