MEET the owner behind a quirky vegan business who travels the country selling "ethical" doughnuts in an old-school 1970s caravan for most of the year.

Amid the travels, staff from Golden Glazed Doughnuts will be back in Worcester to serve hungry customers at Cathedral Square during the city's vegan market this Saturday.

The event is taking place between 11am to 6pm.

Wil Merryweather, head baker, said: "It is really exciting to be coming back to Worcester, we have been travelling the UK and going to vegan markets for the past 12 months.

"And to come back to Worcester our home town is amazing.

"We are expecting a high footfall at the vegan market.

Mr Merryweather, 21, used to be the operational manager at Be The Change before the popular vegan restaurant shut for good in March.

Shortly after he opened up his first vegan business and has been travelling up and down the country in a caravan from 1972.

However, in hot weather, Mr Merryweather said the team prefer to use a van and set up a gazebo once they arrive at their location.

"We started this time last year and we supplied doughnuts to cafes and restaurants across Worcestershire and slightly further afield.

"Some of the staff from Be The Change came to Golden Glaze, but it's quite hard to comment on it because we left before it collapsed.

"So we weren't around when it ended.

"But since then, there have been so many vegan options open in Worcester.

"There is no reason for veganism in Worcester to collapse with Be The Change.

"If someone told me this would be my job two years ago, I would not have believed you.

"But it is a dream come true, I have always loved doughnuts.

"We are also an ethical vegan business.

"All of our cooking oil is recycled into biofuel.

"We recycle all of our packaging and we're completely vegan.

"In the future, we want to attend lots of markets until we open up a flag shop in Worcester."
