The Armed Forces Flag has been raised during a ceremony at County Hall in honour of those in the military family who served their country.
A number of dignitaries attended the ceremony on Monday to mark Armed Forces Week.
Among those to attend were: Dr Gilbert Greenall, Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire; Andrew Spice, Strategic Director of Commercial and Change at Worcestershire County Council; Cllr Kyle Daisley, Chairman of Worcestershire County Council; Cllr Alan Amos, Vice-Chairman of Worcestershire County Council; Cllr Richard Morris, Chair of Worcestershire’s Armed Forces Covenant Partnership.
Every year, Worcestershire County Council raises the Armed Forces flag outside County Hall to publicly honour and recognise all the men and women from across the county, who are a part of the Armed Forces community, as well as those from the UK and around the world. Joining the delegation was David Williams from The Royal British Legion who carried the County Colours Standard.

Short speeches were given at the ceremony by Vice Lord-Lieutenant Dr Greenall and chairman, Councillor Kyle Daisley.
As part of his speech, vice lord-lieutenant of Worcestershire, Dr Gilbert Greenall said: "We tend to concentrate in the past on the World Wars, even though very few who served are still with us, or we remember the more recent postings in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan, but today also presents an opportunity to thank those who are still serving across several countries including Belize, Brunei, and Cyprus.”
Councillor Richard Morris, chair of Worcestershire’s Armed Forces Covenant Partnership, added: “It gives us great pride raising the Armed Forces flag as a symbol of our thanks for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community today, our serving troops and their families, reservists, veterans, and cadet forces.”
Councillor Kyle Daisley, chairman of Worcestershire County Council said: “I would like to mark this day with a special mention to our workforce who are reservists, adult cadet volunteers, veterans, spouses and others who have a proud and strong family connection to those who are serving or have served.
"We thank them all for the outstanding contribution they have made not only to their country.
"On behalf of the council, I would like to thank The Royal British Legion Worcestershire for attending today with their county colours and their life-long commitment in supporting our Armed Forces veterans and their families.”
