AN emergency protocol has been activated in Worcester ahead of extreme weather this weekend.
The Severe Weather Emergency Protocol was activated today (Friday) ahead of Worcester's heatwave.
Worcester City Council has issued a warning to rough sleepers, and Worcestershire Homelessness Prevention Team will be providing those with extra support.

On Saturday, temperatures are set to reach 28c and 26c on Sunday.
The Worcestershire Homelessness Prevention Team has been handing out water, hats and hot weather safety advice ahead of the weekend.
A spokesperson for Worcester City Council said: "With temperatures rising, our friends at Worcestershire Homelessness Prevention Team will be providing extra support for rough sleepers today, handing out water, hats and hot weather safety advice.

"If you see a rough sleeper tell Streetlink."
The Met Office has also issued a yellow weather warning from 2pm until 9pm on Saturday because thunderstorms are set to hit the city.
People have been warned about the potential for flooding and power cuts as thunderstorms are set to hit the city.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Whilst many places will be largely dry, thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail are likely to develop in some areas on Saturday afternoon.
"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
"Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and road closures.
"Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and possibly even cancellations to rail services.
"There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be temporarily lost."
The Met Office warned, and it urged people to unplug any non-essential appliances if they are not already using a surge protector.
