Rybrook Group is the first business to announce it’s getting on board with Worcester’s third major public art trail in summer 2024.

One of the largest family-owned motor groups in the UK specialising in luxury brands, the city’s MINI and BMW dealership is to sponsor a penguin during the eight-week sculpture trail being brought to the city by St Richard’s Hospice.

Rybrook’s penguin sculpture will be brought to life by an artist’s design and auctioned at the end of the project to raise vital funds for the free, ongoing care and support offered by St Richard’s to people with a serious progressive illness and their loved ones.

Gary Rudge, head of business for Rybrook Worcester MINI, said: “We’ve seen how loved the last two art trails in Worcester were and MINI is built on Big Love.

“Big Love is our inspiration to do better, to connect people and share experiences and what better way to continue that journey than by joining the St Richard’s Hospice huddle.

“With our colleagues from Rybrook BMW, we look forward to being part of an event which will capture hearts and imaginations and will do so much for so many by raising funds for local hospice care.”

The trail begins on Monday, July 22 and runs for eight weeks until Sunday, September 15. Forty large fibreglass penguin sculptures will bring a splash of colour to Worcester’s streets and public spaces to form an interactive art trail.

Waddle of Worcester is a Wild in Art event brought to the city by St Richard’s Hospice.

Sara Matthews, business development manager for St Richard’s Hospice, said: “It’s wonderful to welcome everyone at Rybrook to the great Waddle of Worcester.

“One of the things we love best about our art trails is seeing the design each sponsor chooses to represent them. With two iconic brands like MINI and BMW it’s going to be fascinating to see what the team goes for. They might need a bit of a huddle to come to a decision!”

Forty baby penguins will be available for adoption by local schools and community groups. To register interest as a school or community group visit: https://waddleofworcester.co.uk/schools/
