Talented dancers from a Worcester stage school say they are "over the moon" to represent Team England at the Dance World Cup.
The teachers and students from Harlequin Stage School - based at Perdiswell Young People’s Leisure Club - underwent a rigorous audition process last year.
It now means that more than 60 Harlequin dancers aged between seven to 18 have the opportunity to represent Team England.
This year’s competition is taking place in Portugal and the dancers will be competing against dancers from more than 40 other countries.
Between them the dancers have qualified over 40 dances competing in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and song and dance.

Paula Dymock, principal of Harlequin Stage School, who are also celebrating their 30th year, said: “It’s almost 10 years since we last did the Dance World Cup and if this time will be anything like that then the girls are in for the most memorable week of their lives - to have been selected in so many different genres across dance is just amazing and I can’t wait to give 60 students the most amazing time.”
There is an opportunity to see these talented dancers perform before they fly out.
Harlequin Stage School are performing the dances in a showcase tomorrow (June 3) at Nunnery Wood High School.
Tickets are available from Perdiswell Young People’s Leisure Club on 01905 451372 or info@pyplc.co.uk.
