A ‘PITBULL’ attack has left a teenager needing an operation.
An 18-year-old woman was bitten by a dog described as being like a “pitbull” near the Talbot at Knightwick hotel, on Bromyard Road.
She was rushed to hospital and required surgery due to her injuries.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “I can confirm we received reports that an 18-year-old woman was bitten by what was is described as a pitbull-type dog while walking by the river near to The Talbot Hotel in Bromyard Road in Knightwick at around 6pm on Tuesday 23 May.
“This was reported to us at 8pm on Tuesday night, the injured woman was taken straight to A&E at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
“Police were updated yesterday the injured lady required an operation as a result of her injuries.”
The dog has been seized by police and a crime report has been submitted, titled “owner of person in charge allowing dog to be dangerously out of control injuring any person or assistance dog”.
As of 11am on Thursday (May 25) no arrests have been made.
