A FURTHER nineteen new homes will be built on the outskirts of Worcester. 

The planned homes will increase the size of the existing Persimmon Homes’ Whittington Walk development on Swinesherd Way in Spetchley.

Approval was granted by Wychavon District Council and marks the third phase of the development.

Once completed, the overall development will have 300 houses on the land, which will have a mixture of two to four-bedroom properties.

Five of the 19 homes agreed upon will be transferred to a housing association partner for social renting, with two of the homes available through the Government-backed First Homes initiative.

This will allow local buyers to purchase a home at Whittington Walk at a 30% discount.

The developer was given permission to build up to 300 homes on the land in 2016.
