POLICE have issued an update after a man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
It followed a series of incidents in Blackpole which started at The Blackpole Inn, Blackpole Road, where a customer had been threatened with a bladed weapon, but not injured.
Police then received further calls from the nearby Sainsbury’s Garage in Windermere Drive reporting a security guard had suffered an injury.
Armed officers swarmed the car park and detained a man nearby on suspicion of attempted murder.
The injured security guard was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital following the incident on Wednesday (May 17).

Police have released an update stating the suspect currently remains in custody and is being interviewed by police this afternoon.
No charges have been made yet, and police are liaising with CPS in relation to charges.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "There have not been any charges as yet, the suspect does remain in custody and is being interviewed this afternoon.
"We will then liaise with CPS in relation to charges.
"Patrols from SNT have been targeted to that area for public reassurance."
An eyewitness has spoken of when he saw armed police holding a sword as he visited Sainsbury's.
The man, who wished to remain anonymous, was shocked to see armed officers holding a sword with a katana-style handle.
"A police car turned up with a blade tube to safely put the sword in, and the officer who was holding it was wearing gloves."

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “Customer and colleague safety is our highest priority.
"Our Blackpole store has been open as usual since this morning and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson added: "We were called to Windermere Drive in Worcester just after 4.15pm to reports of an assault.
"An ambulance, paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Strensham were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a man with serious injuries.
"He was treated by ambulance crews at the scene before being taken to hospital for further treatment."
